Supporting Canadian Kids with cancer

 

Helena Kirk


Helena Kirk is a 13-year-old grade 8 student. When she was 3.5 years old, she was diagnosed with leukemia and underwent 841 days of chemotherapy and countless procedures. She is a survivor now.

Helena has lost many of her friends to cancer and has many friends still fighting. She is a childhood cancer advocate now and is actively pursuing the federal government for funds to ensure more Canadian kids can survive cancer like she did. She has talked to many Canadian leaders about her advocacy proposal including Prime Minister Trudeau and the Minister of Health and Minister of Science.

Helena has been a spokesperson for Childhood Cancer Canada for 5 years now. Helena is also a lot of fun and loves to spend time with her friends laughing. She is a green belt in karate and is on her school swim team.
